RECIPE INGREDIENTS
» For Garlic Confit
- 1 head of garlic, cloves separated and peeled
- ¼ cup olive oil
» For Garlic Bread
- 1 baguette, Italian bread, or ciabatta
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- Garlic confit (with some infused oil)
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
- ¼ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ¼ cup melted or grated Parmesan (optional)
- 1 cup grated mozzarella or any pizza cheese
» To Serve:
- Chopped parsley
- Chili oil
RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
» Make Garlic Confit
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Place the peeled garlic cloves in an oven-safe dish. Submerge them in olive oil, cover with a lid, and bake for 45-60 minutes until the garlic is soft and golden. Let it cool. Alternatively, you can cook the garlic cloves in a pan over low heat until they are golden.
» Prepare Garlic Butter:**
- Remove the stems from a handful of fresh parsley and chop them finely. Set them aside. In a mixing bowl, mash the garlic confit with a fork and mix it with a bit of the infused oil.
- Then, add the softened butter, salt, red pepper flakes, dried oregano, and chopped parsley. Mix until well combined.
» Assemble Garlic Bread
- Place the ciabatta or baguette on a chopping board and slice it in half lengthwise using a bread knife. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on the cut sides of the bread.
- Spread Parmesan on top if using, then sprinkle generously with mozzarella cheese.
» Air Fry
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Place the bread in the air fryer basket, cut side up. Air fry for 7 minutes until golden and crispy. Once air-fried, remove it and air fry the other half of the bread.
» Serving
- Garnish with chili oil and sprinkle with chopped parsley. Your air fryer garlic bread is ready! Slice and enjoy your delicious homemade garlic bread warm with soups, pasta, or as a snack.
RECIPE NOTES
- If you don't want to make garlic confit, simply swap it with minced garlic. It will give a stronger garlic taste.
- To make crispy bread, make sure to preheat the air fryer before placing the bread. To make it extra crispy, you can air fry for 1-2 extra minutes.
