RECIPE INGREDIENTS
» For Apple Bagel
- 1 vanilla bagel
- 1 large-sized apple, any sweet variety
- 1 tablespoon vegan or regular butter
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons maple Syrup, or as per taste
- 2 tablespoons of toasted walnuts, roughly chopped, (for topping)
- 1-2 tablespoons caramel sauce, optional
RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
» How To Make Apple Bagel
- Core apple, and slice it into 1/4 inch thick slices. Set them aside.
- Slice vanilla bagel in half and keep them aside. Tip: You can also toast them slightly.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter or margarine.
- Add maple syrup, cinnamon, and mix well.
- Next, add the sliced apples and cook them for about 2 minutes on both sides, or until the apples are slightly softened and caramelized.
- The cooking allows the apples to caramelize gently and the flavors to meld together beautifully. Once done, remove it from the heat.
- Place the vanilla bagel halves on a plate. Top the bagels with the syrup from the cooked apples.
- Then spoon the warm, cinnamon-infused apple slices over each bagel half.
- Sprinkle it with toasted chopped walnuts.
- Drizzle with caramel sauce. Your delicious cinnamon-infused Apple Bagels are ready to be served.
- Enjoy them as a delicious breakfast, light dessert, or a filling snack, with a cup of coffee or tea.
RECIPE NOTES
- Any sweet varieties of fresh apples can be used for making this dessert. But you can also use tart apples like Granny Smith for a different taste.
- I have used cinnamon here, you can also use other warming sweet spices like a pinch of ground nutmeg, cinnamon, or even allspice for a different spicy variation.
