RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS

» For making Mango Iced Tea

  1. Add the water to a saucepan, and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, turn off the heat. Add tea bags or leaves to the with the strings hanging over the side of the pot. Cover the pan with the lid or let the tea steep for 3-5 minutes or as per instructions on the package.
  2. Chop or dice the mangoes and discard the stones. Add the chopped mangoes to a blender or puree until smooth. Mango puree is ready. Tip: If the mangoes you are using are fibrous, then also pass the puree through a sieve.
  3. After 5 minutes, discard the tea bags, and pour the tea base into the pitcher. Also add sugar, lemon juice and stir until sugar is dissolved completely.
  4. Add mango puree to the pitcher and mix well until well combined. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until chilled.
  5. Fill the tall serving glasses with ice cubes. Pour the chilled mango iced tea into ice-filled glasses. Garnish with a sprig of mint or a slice of lemon/lime. Enjoy immediately.

RECIPE NOTES

  1. If you find this iced tea is too strong for you, then you can thin it out using some plain water.
  2. This tea tastes best when you serve it after chilling. However, if you don?t have much time, then you can also serve this sweet tea straight over ice without chilling.
  3. Sweetener: Instead of sugar, you can also use simple syrup. Adding sugar or any other type of sweetener to this iced tea is entirely optional though. If your mangoes are really sweet then there is no need for adding additional sweetener.
  4. Swaps: Mango puree can be swapped with other fruit purees such as peach, strawberry, or raspberry.
