RECIPE INGREDIENTS

- 1 cup full-cream milk
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 3 slices of white bread
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder (optional)
» Toppings
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- Dark chocolate shavings (optional)
- Icing sugar (optional)

» How to Make Milk Toast
- Place 3 slices of bread in a stack on a chopping board and spread butter on the top side. Heat a skillet or non-stick pan over medium-low heat. Place the buttered side down, and spread butter on the top side as well. Toast until golden brown on both sides.
- In a bowl, mix the milk and cardamom powder. Pour the milk over the toasted bread slices in the skillet and let the bread soak up the milk for 1-2 minutes. Cook on medium-low heat until the bread absorbs the milk and becomes soft but not mushy.
» Serve:
- Once cooked, carefully transfer the milk toast to a serving plate. Drizzle with honey, and if desired, sprinkle dark chocolate shavings and a dusting of icing sugar to make it extra indulgent and sweet. Enjoy your delicious milk toast with a hot cup of coffee, tea, or a glass of chilled smoothie.
