RECIPE INGREDIENTS
» For Motichoor laddu Kheer //
- 2 large sized motichoor ladoo
- 3 cups whole or full fat milk
- 8-10 saffron strands, curshed
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 2 teaspoon almonds, chopped
- 2 teaspoon pistachios, chopped
- 2 teaspoon cashews chopped
- 2 tablespoons sugar or as per taste
» For Serving //
- Sliced pistachios and saffron strands for garnish
RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
» Make Motichoor laddu Kheer //
- Smash motichoor laddus using fingers or a fork. Keep it aside.
- Heat a pan, and add 3 cups of milk to the pan. Let it come to a boil.
- Once the milk has come to a boil, reduce the heat to low and boil it for 10 minutes over low heat. Stir occasionaly.
- Next, add cardamom powder, chopped pistachios, chopped cashews, almonds and curshed saffron strands.
- After milk has boiled for 10 minutes, add smashed laddus and stir well and cook for 5 more minutes over low heat.
- In between taste the sugar and if needed add sugar at this time. Stir and let the kheer cook for 5 more minutes.
- After 5 minutes, switch off the heat.
- Boondi laddu kheer is ready to serve. Turn off the heat.
- Transfer kheer to serving bowls. Garnish with chopped pistachios and saffron strands. Serve warm or cold.
RECIPE NOTES
- I have added saffron strands and cardamom powder for flavouring. To enhance flavours, you can also use rose water or kewra essence for flavouring.
- You can also replace sugar with jaggery, dates, honey or maple syrup.
- To get a thicker consistency, you can swap sugar with 2 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk.
