RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS

» How to Make Orange Ice Cream

  1. Add the chilled heavy whipping cream (I used 30% fat) to a large mixing bowl. Whip until it forms stiff peaks.
  2. Now, add the sweetened condensed milk to the same mixing bowl. Beat on low speed until everything is well combined.
  3. Next, add the orange zest and the chopped or pureed oranges.
  4. Fold gently. Make sure not to mix too vigorously, or it will destroy all the fluffiness.
  5. Then, add a few drops of orange food coloring and orange extract and fold gently until combined.
  6. Transfer the orange ice cream mixture into a freezer-safe container or dish.
  7. Cover with cling film and freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight.
  8. Once frozen, thaw it for 10 minutes at room temperature.
  9. Scoop the ice cream into cups or cones.
  10. Decorate with chopped oranges and serve chilled.

RECIPE NOTES

  1. Instead of chopping, you can add the oranges to a blender or a food processor and blitz until smooth.
  2. To make it dairy-free, substitute whipping cream with coconut cream, and condensed milk with coconut sweetened condensed milk.
