Sooji Toast - Rava Toast Recipe (3 ways)
Sooji toast (rava toast) is easy to cook breakfast or snack recipe. This crispy toast bread is made with a blend rava or semolina, veggies, yogurt and spices.

RECIPE INGREDIENTS
» For Sooji Topping //
- 1/2 cup semolina (rava)
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 4-5 tablespoons water, if needed
- 1 large chopped onions
- 2-3 medium-sized carrots, chopped
- 2 medium-sized tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro (coriander) leaves
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon chaat masala
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder, or as per taste
- 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
- Salt to taste
» For Sooji Toasts //
- 6 Bread Slices (I used whole wheat)
- Oil for brushing and toasting
RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
» Make The Sooji (Semolina) Topping:
- In a mixing bowl, add all the ingredients for topping and mix well. Add some water if needed.
» How to Make Sooji Toast:
- Spread the batter evenly on 2 bread slices and press them lightly so they don't fall off the bread.
- Heat a pan and brush with oil.
- Place the sooji battered pieces of bread and let them cook from the bottom.
- Flip them over; this time topping side is facing down. Cook them on a medium heat till the time the batter turns golden in color.
- Once done, remove toasts from the pan.
- Cut into two pieces and serve with some chutney or ketchup.
» How to Make Sooji Toast Waffle:
- Spread the batter evenly on 2 bread slices and press them lightly so they don't fall off the bread.
- Brush waffle iron with oil.
- Place battered bread to the waffle, and cook in the preheated waffle iron until golden brown, 5 to 7 minutes.
- Remove toasts from the waffle iron.
- Cut into slices. Serve them hot with some chutney or ketchup.
» How to Make Open Sandwich Sooji Toast:
- Spread the batter evenly on 2 bread slices and press them lightly so they donÕt fall off the bread.
- Brush sandwich maker with oil.
- Cook in a preheated sandwich maker according to the manufacturer's directions until it turns golden brown and cooked perfectly.
- Remove toasts from the sandwich maker.
- Cut into two pieces.
- Serve them hot with some chutney or ketchup.
RECIPE NOTES
- Cool completely on wire rack before baking in a lunch box.
