About Strawberry Cottage Cheese Toast

The cottage cheese strawberry toast is everything you want in a morning breakfast. It is high in protein, has antioxidants, and other nutrients you need to start your day.

Making both sweet strawberry cottage cheese toast and savory strawberry cottage cheese toast is very easy. You just need to toast the bread slices, assemble the same base, and choose either sweet toppings or savory.

Another great thing is that, if you want a spreadable consistency like ricotta cheese, you can also whip the cottage cheese. Also, other than strawberries, you can use blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries. You can also use avocados or any other fruits of your choice.

For some people, strawberries and cottage cheese might sound like a weird combination, but trust me, you need this savory and sweet combination in your life.

Cottage cheese is one of those cheeses that’s delicious but many people don’t know many ways of using it. This recipe is an inspiration for those who want to try new recipes using cottage cheese.

Other than using cottage cheese for my toasts, cottage cheese bagel, apple bagel, sandwiches, pudding, smoothies, salads, and muffins, I recently started making cottage cheese flatbread, and I just love it.

So if you love cottage cheese, then don’t think twice about making this easy toast. You must try this recipe, and who knows if it becomes your next favorite thing for breakfast.

Ingredients

Cottage cheese: It is the star ingredient of this recipe, so use some good quality cottage cheese here. I have used it as it is, but if you want, you can also use whipped cottage cheese for making this toast.

Strawberry: It gives the overall flavor to this toast. So make sure to use some fresh and ripe strawberries as they taste really good.

Bread: I had white bread slices here, but you can use whatever bread you have handy.

Sweet Toppings: For the sweeter version, I used honey and toasted pistachios. You can also use agave or maple syrup here.

Savory Toppings: For making savory toast, I used fresh mint leaves, salt, pepper, oregano, and balsamic reduction. You can also use basil leaves here.

How to Make Cottage Cheese Strawberry Toast

Making this toast is very quick and easy. All you need to do is toast your bread slices. Spread cottage cheese, and top with sliced strawberries.

Your base is ready, you can either top it with sweet toppings or sprinkle seasoning and balsamic reduction for the savory version. That’s it.

Variations

Air Fryer Version

Instead of toasting bread slices, you can also air fry this toast. To make air fryer strawberry cottage cheese toast, simply spread cottage cheese on your raw bread slices, top it with strawberries, and air fry for a few minutes.

Stovetop Version

If you don’t have a toaster or air fryer, then you can simply toast the bread on a stove-top skillet or griddle.

Toppings

  • Nuts & Seeds: You can use any nuts or seeds of your choice such as toasted flax seeds, chia seeds, almonds, or pecans.

  • Fruits & Berries: Other fruits and berries like peaches, bananas, mangoes, apples, melons, raspberries, blueberries, roasted grapes can also be used in this recipe.

  • Veggies: For a variety in flavor, you can also use raw or roasted cherry tomatoes, sliced or mashed avocados for making this toast.

Serving Suggestions

This recipe is best enjoyed fresh as a breakfast or a quick meal at home. It goes beautifully with a steaming cup of coffee, hot chai, Iced Spanish Latte, a refreshing berry smoothie, a glass of hot orange juice, strawberry milk, or even just a plain glass of milk.

For an extensive brunch, you can serve it along with other toasts like pomegranate toast, blueberry toast, peanut butter banana toast, Chilli Cheese toast, Peach toast, or  besan toast, masala french toast

You can also serve it with fruit salad, orange salad, apple salad, and strawberry salad for brunch.

Storage Suggestions

Like any other toast, it is best to enjoy it immediately to avoid any sogginess. But if you have leftovers, or you want to make it for meal prep, then toast the bread a day before and assemble the toast in the morning at the time of serving.

Store the cooled toasted bread in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Just keep in mind that the crispiness of the toast may reduce over time, so you can toast it again for a few seconds to revive the crispness.
