Strawberry Overnight Oats Ingredients

For making these strawberry overnight oats, you will require some very basic ingredients which are available in every kitchen. The ingredients you’ll need are:

  • Old-fashioned rolled oats: Using rolled oats is recommended for making overnight oats because they give the best results. They have a lovely texture that holds up well in liquid.

You can use any of your favorite brands of rolled oats, just make sure not to use instant/quick or steel-cut oats for this recipe.

  • Milk: I have used unsweetened vanilla almond milk for this recipe, but any type of plant-based or regular dairy milk can be used here. Other than almond milk, you can use coconut, soy, or cow milk.

  • Strawberries: I am using fresh strawberries for these overnight oats, fresh tastes best here. But frozen ones can also be used for making this recipe.

  • Greek yogurt: Adding Greek yogurt gives a creamy consistency and a dose of calcium, protein, and probiotics to these overnight oats. I prefer using plain Greek yogurt here, but you can also use vegan or dairy-free yogurt. If you wish, you can avoid using milk here.

  • Sweetener: I used maple for its natural sweetness and to enhance the flavor. The amount of maple syrup I have used here adds a sweet touch without overwhelming other ingredients. But you can adjust the amount of syrup according to your taste preference.

Honey or another natural liquid sweetener can also be used here. Sugar-free alternatives like stevia or monk fruit will also work.

  • Vanilla extract: Adding vanilla extract balances out the flavors. Also, it gives this overnight oats recipe a sweet cake-like taste, subtle flavor, and aromatic taste, and also complements the other ingredients.

Variations

Strawberry overnight oats are a versatile breakfast option that can be customized in many ways. Using different variations offers a flavorful spin on the excellent strawberry overnight oats recipe. Here are some succulent recipe variations you can try:

  • Chocolate Strawberry Overnight Oats: Chocolate and strawberries are best friends and chocolate strawberry overnight oats taste super delicious. To make Chocolate Strawberry Overnight Oats, add about 1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder to the oats and liquid mixture.

In this recipe, rather than mixing strawberries with oats you can top them with chopped strawberries.

  • Mixed Berry Overnight Oats: Mix strawberries with other berries such as blueberries, and raspberries. The rest of the recipe will be the same.

  • Strawberry and Banana Overnight Oats: For a sweeter and more filling touch, you can add 1 sliced banana along with strawberry. This would surely make a fruity and flavorful breakfast.

  • Strawberry Cinnamon Overnight Oats: You can add 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon to add an aromatic and sweet touch.

  • Strawberry Cheesecake Overnight Oats: To make Strawberry Cheesecake Overnight Oats, replace 1/2 cup Greek yogurt with 1/4 cup Greek yogurt and about 1/4 cup of cream cheese. Also add about 1 teaspoon of lemon zest and 1 tablespoon lemon juice.
