How to make vegan watermelon smoothie?
This smoothie is partially vegan because I added a little bit of honey here. To make it completely vegan, swap honey with maple syrup or you can completely omit the sweetener part.
How long does a watermelon smoothie stay fresh?
Watermelon smoothie tastes best when served fresh straight from the blender. But if you have leftover smoothie, then you can store it in the refrigerator for a couple of days.
Can I freeze the watermelon smoothie?
Yes, you can freeze this smoothie. To freeze, pour watermelon smoothie into freezer-safe airtight containers, and freeze for up to 2 months. When you want to relish this watermelon smoothie, then thaw it overnight in the refrigerator.
What are the tips, tricks, and variations to make the best Watermelon Smoothie?
Tip 1. Watermelon is 90 percent water, so if you want to make a thick watermelon smoothie, make sure to freeze watermelon beforehand. Or else, you will end up with watermelon juice.
Tip 2. For this frozen watermelon smoothie, make sure to buy the ripest, brightest red watermelons.
Tip 3. I didn’t use ice in this smoothie, because I used frozen watermelon and frozen strawberries in the smoothie. The frozen fruits add enough thickness to this smoothie, plus the ice would dilute the flavor of this smoothie.
The more frozen fruits you would add to this smoothie, the thicker it will be. So for a thick and creamy texture, I would recommend using at least 2 frozen fruits, preferably watermelon and strawberries.
Tip 4. Instead of water, you can also use some Greek yogurt or coconut yogurt for this watermelon smoothie.
Tip 5. I have added some honey for extra sweetness. If you don’t like too sweet smoothies then feel free to omit it entirely.
Tip 6. I added chia seeds for a fiber boost. You can replace chia seeds with hemp seeds or flaxseeds.
Tip 7. Sweetener: If you don’t want to add honey, then substitute it with sugar, agave, or maple syrup.
Tip 8. Instead of regular water, you can also use coconut water.
Tip 9. Liquid: If you don’t want to add milk to this smoothie, then you can also use citrus juice like orange or mandarin juice.
